and shops staff is able to speak at least a
basic level of English. But if you encounter
some difficulties, you still can call the local
tourist offices, who will be happy to help you.
Be careful with time! France is one hour
ahead of UK time throughout the year...
Telephoning: remind that any call from France
toward UK should start with the code 00 44,
then you can dial your number without the
“0” of the town code.
Be careful with driving: French people drive
on the right side of the road, so please,
be vigilant and keep the right! Be careful
as well with the priority rule: in absence
of any markings on the road, the priority
should be given to the vehicle coming from
the right-hand side.
Speed limits in France (on dry roads, if
the weather conditions are bad, speed limits
are lower):
Toll motorway: 130 kmh or 81 mph
Non-toll motorway: 110 kmh or 68 mph
Other roads: 90 kms or 56 mph
In town: 50 kmh or 30 mph.
